Yamaha YST-MS50 Stereo Speaker Review
The YST-MS50 are computer speakers from Yamaha. A long time ago I owned a Yamaha, but it wasn't a set of computer speakers it was a dirt bike. Noisy though it was, even if it would fit on my computer desk I wouldn't want to sit there just listening to it.

But actually Yamaha have made midi devices and musical instruments for years and the Yamaha YST-MS50 Computer Speakers continue the tradition for high quality sound equipment at a reasonable price.
Yamaha YST-MS50 are Well Built
The quality of the Yamaha YST-MS50 computer speakers are exceptional; the Yamaha YST-MS50 computer speakers are solidly constructed and obviously built to last. The two satellite speakers contain two drivers each, a tweeter and cone to cover the midrange. The stand-alone woofer in this 2.1 speaker combination is similarly well constructed and the 6.5-inch cone will reproduce those rocket launcher explosions in computer games or base riffs in your mp3 collection with clarity and precision.
The Yamaha YST-MS50 computer speakers are styled more traditionally than other 2.1 systems, such as Creative Labs, they are not flashy but would suit a traditional pc set up. If you are looking for something stylish beside your monitor I would look somewhere else.
The Sound of the Yamaha YST-MS50
The Yamaha YST-MS50 is quite simply a great sounding 2.1 computer speaker system. Yamaha have a long tradition of quality audio products and the YST-MS50 is no exception and for only $70 the YST-MS50 is about the best value for money in the 2.1 computer speaker market.

If we were to be hyper critical of Yamaha YST-MS50 at low volumes the base at the lower end isn't as good as the last paragraph would lead you to believe. But then again if you are looking for a 2.1 upgrade to your generic, shipped with your pc standard computer speaker set you hardly want to listen to anything to that quietly anyway.

The Yamaha YST-MS50 are a great set of 2.1 computer speakers, the sound is superb, they are very well build and you have all the backing of the extensive experience that Yamaha have in the sound reproduction arena. The Yamaha YST-MS50 are not the most stylish 2.1 computer speakers made - if that matters to you look at the Creative Labs range - otherwise plug in an enjoy one of the best 2.1 computer speakers on the market.
